Easter Revision Course aimed at Junior & Leaving Cert Students & also open to other students who have a keen interest in music or learning an instrument to an intermediate level (Grade 3+)

Topics covered in line with the JC & LC Syllabus and extra practical modules such as Sound Technology, Production & Performance.

Workshops given by Professional Musicians - such as Bodhran workshop, Jazz & Blues workshop, Song-writing, Composition and Guitar & Ukulele Techniques to improve your playing.

Topics include: 
- Rudiments of Music - Musicianship & Theory, Notation, Harmony Analysis & Chordal progressions. 

- Composition - 4, 8 or 16 Bar Melody writing. Setting Melody to Poetry, Rhythmic Dictation. 
Compose an original piece or song, and another student perform it in class. Gain confidence in your own creations and also improve your sight-reading. 

- Aural Development - Improve listening skills and recognise melodic patterns, and chordal accompaniment. Train your ear to teach yourself skills to play along with any song. 

- Performance Techniques - singing, instrumental and ensemble coaching. 

- Mindfulness in Music - Learn about stress & relaxation, overcome performance anxiety, breathing & stretching exercises based on yoga techniques. 

- Sound Technology - Learn how to assemble PA for a performance, using microphones, leads, mixing desk and powered speakers. How to use EQ pedals and learn about the various frequencies. 

- Listen to and recognise characteristics from set works & pieces from a variety of eras such as Baroque, Classical, Modern, Contemporary, Irish Traditional Music, Folk Music, Rock & Pop. 

Price: €100 for a week or €180 for 2 weeks. Booking Deposit €50 to secure your place.

Week 1 - Monday 15th to Thursday 18th April
Week 2 - Tuesday 23rd to Friday 26th April.

Times: 10am to 1pm or 2pm - 5pm
From Age 10 to 18. Grouped into appropriate age groups.
